Lima (Peru), April 14 (LaPresse) – Peruvian writer Mario Vargas Llosa, Nobel Prize winner in Literature, has died at the age of 89. His son made the announcement. "It is with deep sorrow that we announce that our father, Mario Vargas Llosa, passed away peacefully today in Lima, surrounded by his family," reads a letter signed by his children Álvaro, Gonzalo, and Morgana, published on Álvaro’s X profile. "His passing saddens relatives, friends, and readers around the world, but we hope they can find comfort, as we do, in the fact that he lived a long, adventurous, and fruitful life, and leaves behind a body of work that will endure."
