UNESCO: Tajani, proud of Italian cuisine, is a driver of growth

Rome, 10 December (LaPresse) – ‘You win when there is great teamwork. Today we are proud of our cuisine, which is not just something that is created in the kitchen but represents our identity, our history and our culture.’ This was stated by Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani, speaking in India at the session in which the UNESCO International Commission declared Italian cuisine an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. ‘On behalf of the Italian government, I would like to thank all those who worked hard to achieve this goal,’ he added. ‘I would also like to thank all our embassies and consulates.’ Tajani also highlighted how Italian cuisine is also ‘health, innovation and an extraordinary driver of growth and prosperity.’ ‘In 2024, our agri-food exports reached a record €68 billion, up by more than 8%, and in the first few months of this year, there was a further increase,’ he concluded.
