PA, Zangrillo: "Those who refuse to sign contract renewals are triggering a social uprising"

Florence, April 9 (LaPresse) – "For salary increases, we allocated more than 20 billion in the 2023 and 2024 budget laws for contract renewals, and we ensured resources to cover the contract renewals for the 22/24, 25/27, and 28/30 periods. We have created the conditions to do something that has never existed in the history of the Republic: continuous contracts. I arrived at this ministry in 2022, and the first problem I encountered was closing the contracts for the 19/21 period. The first thing I asked my government colleagues, the Prime Minister, and the Minister of Economy and Finance was to remind us of the need for adequate resources for contract renewals, and we obtained them. Now, to find myself in a situation where someone tells me that there are not enough resources and because of this says they are getting up from the table and not signing, makes me say that it’s like the beginning of a social revolt on the backs of workers." This was stated by the Minister of Public Administration, Paolo Zangrillo, speaking in Florence at the national congress of the Cisl Public Function. "When we conduct negotiations," the minister added, "we must not only focus on the minimum salary scales but also be concerned with all the regulatory aspects that govern corporate welfare and ensure that people are valued and have a proper balance between professional commitment and personal life. This is why I am very disappointed by those who have not been willing to understand that the negotiations we are conducting on public administration workers are negotiations with a value that goes beyond just salary increases."
