It is true that we are dependent on the United States for our defence. It is true that we could say “let's import more agricultural products, liquefied gas”. But we can also have our say on car exports. I was in America three days ago. They need us, just as we need them. Otherwise, we risk automatically turning to China. It must be a dialogue between strong parties. I am sure we have the capacity to reach an agreement. Otherwise, we will embark on a road to the bottom, a downward spiral of ever-higher tariffs. And we will all lose out," she added.
