Milan, 4 July (LaPresse) – “The annual fee paid directly to Anas” is supplemented 'by an additional amount, calculated on the basis of mileage, equal to 1 thousandth of a euro per kilometre for toll classes A and B and 1 thousandth of a euro per kilometre for toll classes 3, 4 and 5, starting from the first day of the month following the entry into force of this paragraph'. This is stated in an amendment by the rapporteurs to Article 11 of the Infrastructure Decree. Given the expected parliamentary process, the measure should therefore enter into force on 1 August. ‘The fee thus supplemented shall be increased every two years by decree of the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, in agreement with the Minister of Economy and Finance, in line with the inflation rate recorded,’ the amendment also states. The proposal, as emphasised in the explanatory report accompanying the amendment, 'is necessary to identify structural coverage for the additional requirements of ANAS to deal with a series of events that have occurred in recent times (redefinition of the network managed by ANAS, increase in public lighting costs, etc.). This requirement, as emphasised in the technical report, ‘amounts to approximately €90 million per year, corresponding to the additional revenue expected from the increase in the licence fee’.
