Rome, July 23 (LaPresse) – The Senate confirmed the government’s confidence vote on the decree supporting productive sectors, known as the ex-Ilva decree, with 98 votes in favor, 67 against, and 2 abstentions, based on the text amended in committee. The decree will now move to the Chamber of Deputies, where it must be approved before the summer break. The measure allocates an additional 200 million euros for the productive continuity of the Taranto site. Yesterday, the government’s amendment was approved, introducing an extraordinary contribution—up to 500 euros—for recipients of the Inclusion Allowance who, after the first 18 months of benefit usage, are admitted for renewal for an additional 12 months. Amendments by the rapporteur concerning the heat emergency and the redevelopment of the Piombino site were also approved, while the amendment on the start date of the prescription period for labor credits, contested by unions, was withdrawn.
