Rome, 22 August (LaPresse) – ‘The result achieved so far is commendable because it finally provides certainty for businesses, averting a “trade war” that would have been devastating’. This was emphasised by the Minister for Enterprise and Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso, in an interview with Ilsussidiario.net following the agreement between the EU and the US on tariffs. ‘The result is positive for the pharmaceutical, semiconductor and automotive sectors, which were the most at risk,’ the minister pointed out. ‘Now,’ he added, ‘we need to work on other exemptions that are still possible, for example in the agri-food sector, and prepare any compensatory measures at EU level where necessary, to which further specific national measures may be added. At the same time, we have put in place a promotional plan to seize opportunities in other markets, and the results are already evident, as demonstrated by the growth in exports to non-European markets.’
