Milan, Sept. 10 (LaPresse) – In July 2025, ISTAT estimates that the seasonally adjusted index of industrial production increased by 0.4% compared to June. In the May–July period, the average level of production rose by 0.2% compared to the previous three months.

The seasonally adjusted index, notes the Italian National Institute of Statistics, shows a monthly decrease only for energy (-7.8%); conversely, increases were recorded for consumer goods (+2.1%), capital goods (+1.6%), and intermediate goods (+0.7%).

Adjusted for calendar effects, the general index in July 2025 increased by 0.9% year-on-year (there were 23 working days, as in July 2024). Year-on-year increases were observed for consumer goods (+3.0%), capital goods (+2.8%), and intermediate goods (+0.3%), while energy decreased (-5.2%).

The economic sectors with the largest year-on-year increases, ISTAT specifies, were the manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products (+10.8%), computer and electronics manufacturing (+6.4%), and the food, beverage and tobacco industries (+5.7%). The most significant declines were recorded in the supply of electricity, gas, steam and air (-9.4%), in chemical product manufacturing (-2.7%), and in the manufacture of rubber and plastic products (-1.6%).
