Budget law, Giorgetti: ‘Banks must make their contribution’

Milan, 23 September (LaPresse) – ‘If we look at the financial statements for the last five years, we see that there are sectors, companies and situations that have been severely affected by the crisis and the effects of, for example, energy costs, and there are sectors that, thanks to the skill of the entrepreneurs who work in them, such as banking, have made stratospheric profits’. This was stated by the Minister of Economy, Giancarlo Giorgetti, in a video link with a Lega election event in the Marche region. ‘Now, in a situation like this, I believe that, from a systemic point of view, and without bullying anyone, it is only fair that everyone makes a contribution,’ added Giorgetti. In any case, the minister added, ‘it's not that we're going to go on a crusade, we'll sit down with them as we have done in previous years and we'll certainly find a way for everyone, especially those who have more opportunities, to contribute to this tax relief, which I think is absolutely necessary.’
