Rome, Oct. 17 (LaPresse) – "We had requested a wage revaluation mechanism, and this was not done. This remains a demand to be pursued. If the fiscal drag is not reversed and this problem is not solved, we remain in a system that penalizes workers and pensioners," said CGIL secretary Maurizio Landini to SkyTg24 Economia, commenting on the labor measures in the budget. He added that the incentive for contract renewals "is positive, but I see it only applies up to 28,000 euros." Regarding the contribution from banks, "I still don’t understand how it works. In past years, no extra taxes were asked from banks; they became forms of credit and loans. There is talk of voluntariness. What we asked is that the unfair tax system be changed," Landini emphasized. "Also on profits, I think it would be useful not to have a flat tax but a progressive one," he concluded.
