Ponte Stretto, Court of Auditors: ‘Only legal aspects and protection of public expenditure assessed’
Milan, 30 October (LaPresse) – ‘Yesterday, the Court of Auditors, through its Legality Control Section, expressed its opinion on the strictly legal aspects of the CIPESS resolution concerning the economic and financial plan for the construction of the “Bridge over the Strait”, without making any assessment of the appropriateness and merits of the project’. This was stated by the Court of Auditors in a note regarding the rejection of the legitimacy visa on the CIPESS resolution relating to the final design of the permanent link between Sicily and Calabria, also emphasising that ‘compliance with legitimacy is an essential prerequisite for the regularity of public spending, the protection of which is entrusted by the Constitution to the Court of Auditors’.
