Budget Law, Lega reports cancellation of increase in short-term rental and dividend taxes

Milan, Nov 19 (LaPresse) – Among the amendments to the budget law reported by the Lega party is the cancellation of the increase in the "cedolare secca" flat tax to 26% on short-term rentals and the removal of the tax on dividends. The funding for these measures would come from a further two-point increase (from 2 to 4, as opposed to the government’s plan) in the regional business tax (IRAP) on banks and insurance companies. Also confirmed among the amendments is the expansion of the "rottamazione" program, which includes a reduction in interest rates to 2% and two payment reminders.
