Rome, 9 December. (LaPresse) – ‘Elon Musk loves Europe, but not the bureaucratic monster it has become at the expense of its own growth.’ So said Andrea Stroppa, Musk's Italian representative, during Nicola Porro's programme ‘10 minuti,’ which aired last night on Rete 4. Stroppa's comments come two days after the South African magnate's attack on the European Union: ‘The EU should be abolished,’ Musk wrote on X. Stroppa stressed that ‘Musk considers the Europe-US relationship to be the most important for the West. Elon Musk's companies have invested billions of euros in Europe and directly employ around 15,000 people.’ On the future competitiveness of the old continent, Stroppa highlighted that ‘automotive, space, digital information and artificial intelligence are the four sectors that will drive development and transformation in the coming years: Europe is currently struggling in all of these areas, despite having played a very important role in the past, for example in space. It is in this context that Elon Musk's exhortations for Europe to take back control of its future should be taken.’
