Milan, 29 December (LaPresse) – Six million travellers are expected on New Year's Eve. Eighty per cent will stay in Italy, 20 per cent of whom will remain in their own region. These are the estimates provided by Confcommercio. The trip has been planned in detail, and half of Italians have opted to treat themselves to a few extra days of holiday, staying for at least three to four nights. One million three hundred thousand Italians, essentially one in five travellers, have chosen a foreign destination, with France, Spain, Germany and the United Kingdom topping the list of European preferences. As with Christmas, mountain resorts, cities of art and seaside resorts are the most popular destinations. Trentino Alto Adige, Tuscany and Campania are the most popular regions for New Year's Eve 2025 in Italy. The estimated average spend is £350 per person.
