Santanchè: “We are considering revising the school calendar to reduce seasonality.”

Milan, Jan. 23 (LaPresse) – "We want to propose a gradual alignment of the school calendar with more modern European models, to encourage distributed internal flows. It is now well known that our school calendar concentrates holidays mainly in two periods of the year, unlike most other Western countries, where school breaks are spread more evenly throughout the year. This peculiarity does not facilitate domestic tourism, as it generates seasonal crowding and limits the possibility for families to travel outside the high season. For this very reason, we are in talks with our colleague Valditara to start a process of discussion to work on a gradual revision of school plans, in which to integrate trips to discover the most secret and authentic Italy, that of Made in Italy, and the school calendar, inspired by the most modern and flexible European models." This was stated by the Minister of Tourism, Daniela Santanchè, speaking at the Third International Tourism Forum, currently underway in Milan. “Such a reform would represent a turning point for the deseasonalization of tourist flows, promoting a better distribution of visitors and thus contributing both to the well-being of families and to the sustainable growth of the national tourism sector,” added Santanchè.
