Milan, April 29 (LaPresse) – The Federal Reserve has left interest rates unchanged for the third consecutive meeting, keeping them between 3.5% and 3.75%. The decision was taken with 4 dissenting votes. The dissent highlights the level of division within the Fed committee responsible for setting rates, composed of 12 members. Jerome Powell’s term ends on May 15. This morning the Senate Banking Committee approved his successor, Kevin Warsh, appointed by Trump. Warsh has expressed support for rate cuts, as requested by Trump.
