This was stated by the Lufthansa Group after the announcement of the completion of the acquisition of the initial stake in Ita Airways. ‘With today's closing of the transaction, the Lufthansa Group and Ita Airways can conclude the first cooperation agreements for their passengers. In a few weeks, Ita Airways‘ frequent flyers will be able to accumulate their points or miles in Ita Airways’ existing ‘Fly’ programme or already in Miles & More, the Lufthansa Group's loyalty programme. In addition, Miles & More participants will have the opportunity to earn and redeem miles on Ita Airways flights,’ the note further reads. ‘Further collaborations, such as joint code-share connections, mutual use of each other's lounges and planned admission to the Star Alliance aviation alliance, will follow later. Further details will be communicated to customers and partners in a timely manner,’ Lufthansa further states.
