Rome, 16 Mar (LaPresse) – Kenya dominated the Rome Marathon in both the men's and women's events. Among the men the first to cross the finish line was Robert Ngeno, with a time of 2 hours 7 minutes and 35 seconds. Behind him were his compatriots Brian Kipsang and Joshua Kogo. Among the women, Betty Chepkwony triumphed, with a time of 2 hours 26 minutes and 16 seconds. Ethiopian Selam Gebre and Kenyan Rebecca Kangogo completed the podium. Among the Italians, the best was Daniele Meucci, eighth. Among the women Ayse Sonmez was also eighth.
