Rome, April 11 (LaPresse) – Eric Dane, Dr. Mark Sloan from Grey's Anatomy, has been diagnosed with ALS, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. The actor revealed this to People magazine. "I have been diagnosed with ALS," he said, adding, "I am grateful to have my loving family by my side as we face the next chapter." The 52-year-old actor is married to Rebecca Gayheart, and the couple has two children, Billie Beatrice, 15, and Georgia Geraldine, 13. In Italy, he became famous for playing Dr. Mark Sloan in the TV series Grey's Anatomy. "I feel lucky to be able to continue working and I look forward to returning to the set of Euphoria next week," Dane said to People. "I kindly ask for privacy for me and my family during this time." Dane, who plays the patriarch of the Jacobs family in Euphoria, will begin production of the third season of the HBO hit series on April 14. Two years ago, the series mourned the loss of Angus Cloud, who passed away at just 25 years old.
