Cannes (France), 24 May (LaPresse) – The organisers of the Cannes Film Festival have confirmed that the power cut affected the early activities today and reported that the Palais des Festivals, the main venue on the Croisette, has switched to an independent power supply. ‘All scheduled events and screenings, including the closing ceremony, will take place as planned and under normal conditions,’ a statement said. ‘The cause of the outage has not yet been identified. Work is underway to restore service.’ Screenings at the Cineum, one of the festival's satellite venues, have been temporarily suspended.
