New York (USA), May 31 (LaPresse) – Taylor Swift has regained full control of her entire discography. In a lengthy note published Friday on her official website, Swift announced: "All the music I have ever made now belongs to me." The pop star stated that she purchased her recording catalog — originally released under Big Machine Records — from its latest owner, the private equity firm Shamrock Capital. The artist did not disclose the purchase amount. In recent years, Swift has started re-recording and re-releasing her first six albums in an effort to reclaim control over her music. "I can never thank you enough for helping me reunite with this art that I have dedicated my life to but never truly owned until now," she wrote to her fans in the post. "The best things I’ve ever owned… are finally truly mine." "We are thrilled with this outcome and very happy for Taylor," said Shamrock Capital in a statement. Swift’s re-recordings were motivated by the purchase and subsequent sale of her original catalog by Scooter Braun, CEO of Hybe America, and represent Swift’s effort to control her songs and how they are used. The previous releases of ‘Taylor’s Version’ have been much more than conventional re-recordings, also featuring previously unreleased ‘from the vault’ tracks, hidden clues, and visual elements that deepen the understanding of her work.
