Milan, 6 June (LaPresse) – The concert in Piazza Duomo by the Filarmonica della Scala confirms its status as one of the most eagerly awaited events in the Milanese calendar. Last night, the gates to the square recorded over 21,000 admissions, while just over 15,000 spectators attended the entire concert, the maximum capacity allowed. The programme was well received, including the virtuoso passages required by Darius Milhaud for Le boeuf sur le toit op. 58, masterfully interpreted by Emmanuel Tjeknavorian, and the most famous melodies from Schindler's, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial and Indiana Jones. There was much applause for Riccardo Chailly and the La Scala Philharmonic Orchestra, who, together with Tjeknavorian, performed Carlos Gardel's tango Por una cabeza as an encore. Concerto per Milano – organised under the patronage of the Municipality of Milan – is supported by Main Partner UniCredit, Sponsor Allianz and Esselunga. The initiative is supported by Media Partner Radio Classica and Technical Partners ATM and SEA Milan Airports. Thanks to the collaboration with Rai Cultura, the concert was broadcast live on Rai 5 and Rai Play.
