Ozzy Osbourne bids farewell to his audience of 40,000 at his farewell concert

London (United Kingdom), 6 July (LaPresse/AP) – A tribute concert for what he himself called his last live performance. Ozzy Osbourne said goodbye to his audience in Birmingham, his hometown, singing at Villa Park in front of 40,000 fans. The 76-year-old artist, who was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2020, performed on a black throne that stood below the stage. ‘Let the madness begin,’ he exclaimed before starting the live show. ‘I don't know what to say, I've been in bed for about six years. You have no idea how I feel, thank you from the bottom of my heart,’ he added. ‘You are all special, now come on, let's rock!’ Ozzy performed several solo songs before being joined on stage, for the first time in 20 years, by Black Sabbath, his bandmates in the original line-up. The iconic heavy metal band closed the concert with “Paranoid”, one of their most famous songs.
