Los Angeles (California, United States), July 23 (LaPresse) – A doctor, Salvador Plasencia, has pleaded guilty to administering ketamine to 'Friends' star Matthew Perry in the month before the actor’s death on October 28, 2023. Plasencia, one of five defendants on trial over Perry’s death, admitted guilt to four charges before Judge Sherilyn Peace Garnett at the federal court in Los Angeles. During the hearing, the doctor spoke only to respond to the judge’s questions. In exchange for his plea – already agreed upon and formalized today with the signing of the plea agreement – prosecutors agreed to drop three additional ketamine distribution charges and two counts of document falsification. Plasencia faces up to 40 years in prison. It is currently unclear whether he will receive a reduced sentence, although it is highly likely.
