Venice, 3 September (LaPresse) – The audience in the main theatre at the Venice Film Festival gave a resounding response to the screening of the competition film “The Voice of Hind Rajab” by Tunisian director Kaouther Ben Hania. There was a 24-minute standing ovation for the tragic story of the 6-year-old Palestinian girl killed by the Israeli army in Gaza while trapped in a car with her family and trying to call for help. The film features the original voice recordings of the little girl's phone calls to the Palestinian Red Crescent operators, who unfortunately were unable to save her. The film is inspired by the tragic event that took place in Gaza in January 2024.
