Venice, 6 September (LaPresse) – "This war must end as soon as possible, we know that, it no longer makes sense to continue, it is time to stop this drift, but we know that the end of the war, which we hope will end soon despite the news telling us otherwise, will not be the end of the conflict, it will not mark the end of the hostility and pain that these hostilities will cause. We must work hard, especially us believers and all those who create culture, to create a different narrative. We have left the narrative to the radicals, to the extremists on both sides. Instead, we must have the courage to create a different narrative and language that opens up new horizons and new avenues." This is the appeal launched by the Patriarch of Jerusalem, Pierbattista Pizzaballa, in a video message at the end of the award ceremony at the Venice International Film Festival. "We need new perspectives, new paths, new ideas, first and foremost in the world of culture and language, which can then also reach society and politics. This is my wish, I believe in it, it is possible. There are many people here who are committed to this, and we need your help, so I hope that Venice can also make a positive contribution in this regard, that there are people in the world who can help us think differently, bringing us words and images that build rather than destroy," he added.
