Naples, 5 March (LaPresse) – A big celebration in Naples for Sal Da Vinci, fresh from his victory at the Sanremo Festival with his song ‘Per sempre sì’ (Forever Yes). Hundreds of fans gathered in the Torretta square in Piedigrotta, the Neapolitan singer's home neighbourhood. A small stage was set up at the entrance to the municipal building for the singer to perform, while fans, some of whom had been waiting for hours, sang the chorus of the winning song from Sanremo 2026. The party, initially scheduled for yesterday, was postponed by one day to avoid coinciding with the funeral of little Domenico Caliendo, the 2-year-old boy who died at Monaldi Hospital after a failed heart transplant. After today's street party, the “institutional” celebrations will take place in the coming days: on Wednesday 11 March at 12 noon, in the Sala dei Baroni of the Maschio Angioino, Mayor Gaetano Manfredi will award Sal Da Vinci the city's highest honour, the plaque with the Medal of the City of Naples.
