Rome, 9 July (LaPresse) – Climate change has tripled deaths due to heat waves in European cities in recent days. This is what emerges from the first study dedicated to deaths linked to climate change during a heat wave. According to the analysis, led by scientists from Imperial College London and the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, “human-induced climate change has intensified the recent European heatwave and increased the expected number of heat-related deaths by around 1,500 in 12 European cities”. Among the cities affected between 23 June and 2 July were Milan, Rome and Sassari.
