Milan, Dec 29 (LaPresse) – Rome's firefighters responded around 6:40 PM to an incident in Piazzale Flaminio, at the entrance to Villa Borghese, where a fire broke out in an external shed containing equipment for metro construction works. Thick smoke was funneled into the ventilation systems of nearby metro stops, filling the stations and triggering the fire alarm. The Spagna and Flaminio stations on Metro Line A were evacuated and subsequently closed. No fire has been detected inside the metro itself, and no injuries have been reported. Law enforcement authorities also intervened at the scene.
