Rome, Jan. 3 (LaPresse) – The National Cybercrime Centre for the Protection of Critical Infrastructures (Cnaipic) detected 11,887 hacker attacks on sensitive IT infrastructures in Italy in 2024, and issued 59,373 alerts. There were 178 people investigated for hacking, and 63 requests for international police cooperation ‘High Tech Crime G8’. The highest number of hacker attacks was recorded in July 2024, with a significant increase of 38% compared to 2023, but with a decrease of 46% in the number of reported subjects, due to the important prevention work carried out by the State Police.
