Rome, 4 Jan (LaPresse) – Within a few days a ‘red zone’ will be created in Rome, at Termini and Esquilino stations, ‘to further increase security levels’. This is what we learn from the Viminale. The short timeframe for the implementation of the device is confirmed by Viminale sources, who point out, however, that ‘the level of police presence in the area and in the other stations of the capital has already been significantly increased’. From the beginning of 2023 to date, in fact, 198 extraordinary ‘high impact’ operations have been carried out, with the overall deployment of 14,300 units of law enforcement, local police and personnel from other agencies: 158,850 subjects checked, of which 67,656 foreigners; 504 subjects arrested and 1,579 reported; 82 foreigners expelled; 79 weapons seized; 23,276 vehicles checked; 1,846 public establishments inspected and 138 illegal or irregular workers identified at the end of the activities.
