Milan, Jan 10 (LaPresse) – "I was terrified; I was overwhelmed by a flood of men." This is what Laura Barbier, a 20-year-old student from Liège, reportedly told Belgian police and investigators from Milan's mobile squad, who questioned her today through judicial cooperation channels in the investigation into the group sexual assault on New Year's Eve in Milan. The student was shown a map of Piazza Duomo and identified the exact spot where she said she was surrounded by 30-40 men of North African origin. This location, known as 'the funnel,' is at the entrance to Galleria Vittorio Emanuele, according to investigative sources. This detail is crucial for acquiring camera footage to corroborate her account. At the end of the questioning, a remote meeting was held between Eurojust—the EU's judicial cooperation agency—and Alessia Menegazzo, the Milan prosecutor in charge of the case.
