Mastropietro Case: Supreme Court Confirms Life Sentence for Oseghale

Rome, January 17 (LaPresse) – The Supreme Court of Cassation has rejected the extraordinary appeal filed by the defense of Innocent Oseghale, effectively confirming the life sentence for the murder of Pamela Mastropietro. The 18-year-old girl from Rome was killed, dismembered, and placed in two suitcases in Macerata, in the Marche region, on January 30, 2018.

According to the appeal filed by lawyers Simone Matraxia and Umberto Gramenzi, the heroin Pamela consumed was allegedly provided not by Innocent Oseghale but by another Nigerian drug dealer who reportedly demanded a sexual act from the girl before giving her the dose.

However, the Attorney General of the Supreme Court emphasized in his reconstruction that Oseghale, taking advantage of Pamela’s state under the influence of heroin, sexually assaulted her. When the girl regained consciousness and attempted to resist, she was killed.

Oseghale is currently detained in Ferrara prison.
