(LaPresse) – There are also many children among the thousands and thousands of ‘small and defenceless victims’ among the tragedies that ‘take place in our seas with migrants’. ‘Loving and protecting’ children is a “categorical imperative” that should gather a “unanimous” consensus. This was said by the Vatican's Secretary of State, Cardinal Pietro Parolin, at the opening event of ‘Amiamoli e Proteggiamoli’, the International Summit for Children's Rights to be held tomorrow at the Vatican. Parolin emphasised how the Church is always ‘committed to the defence and protection of the little ones’ and, in the wake of Pope Francis' words, urged those present, including former US Vice-President Al Gore, to listen to their voices.
