Milan, February 10 (LaPresse) – The appeal trial against Alessia Pifferi, the 38-year-old woman sentenced to life imprisonment in the first instance for the aggravated intentional homicide of her 18-month-old daughter Diana, abandoned in their home in Via Parea in Milan on 14 July 2022 and found dead of starvation a week later, has begun. Before the panel of the Court of Appeal (president Caputo, associate judge Anelli), the woman was assisted by lawyer Alessia Pontenani. Pifferi's mother and sister, Maria Assandri and Viviana Pifferi, are civil plaintiffs with lawyer Emanuele De Mitri. The prosecution is supported in court by Deputy Prosecutor Lucilla Tontodonati. The last hearing on 29 January had been postponed due to the defendant's state of health.
