Rome, 13 March (LaPresse) – Chef Rubio, aka Gabriele Rubini, has been committed for trial by the investigating judge of the court of Rome, on charges of aggravated defamation and incitement to racial discrimination. According to the prosecution, during a programme on a private radio station, Rubio allegedly stated that the genocide involved ‘only some Jews because the rich ones sold their families’. Another accusation concerns some of his statements during a conference in a community centre where he allegedly incited those present to commit violence against Israel. Both the Roman Jewish community and the Union of Italian Jewish Communities have filed a civil lawsuit in the trial. The first hearing is scheduled for 1 June 2025.
