Rome, March 25 (LaPresse) – The judges of the Court of Cassation have rejected the appeal presented by Olindo Romano and Rosa Bazzi for the reopening of the trial on the Erba massacre, for which the couple was sentenced to life imprisonment. The trial will not be reopened, and the two will remain in prison. The three levels of judgment, which confirmed life sentences for Olindo Romano and Rosa Bazzi as the perpetrators of the Erba massacre, highlighted, according to the Appeals Court judges and later reiterated by the chief prosecutor of Como—who rejected the request for a retrial—"the correctness of the work" carried out by the prosecutor and the Carabinieri. During the preliminary investigations, they gathered "incontestable material, documentary, testimonial, scientific, and logical evidence" and "not just the confessions."
