Rome, 25 March (LaPresse) – During his indictment, the Attorney General of the Court of Cassation urged the judges that the appeal presented by Olindo Romano and Rosa Bazzi, for the reopening of the trial on the Erba massacre for which the couple were sentenced to life imprisonment, was inadmissible. In the evening after the discussion, the Court of Cassation will decide on the appeal against the Brescia Court of Appeal's decision to reopen the trial. According to lawyer Fabio Schembri, defence counsel for the two defendants, ‘there are several new pieces of evidence, all important because they individually and together impact on the arguments supporting the conviction. And some of them impact on the incompatibility of Olindo and Rosa to carry out the massacre'.
