Montenero di Bisaccia, 31 Mar. (LaPresse) – The council chamber in Montenero di Bisaccia (Campobasso) is filling up in preparation for the ceremony to name the first school in Italy after Sammy Basso, the young researcher and symbol of courage and civil commitment who died last October. Civil and religious authorities and representatives from the world of education were present: the mayor Simona Contucci, the bishop of the diocese of Termoli-Larino Monsignor Claudio Palumbo, the president of the Molise Region Francesco Roberti and the former magistrate Antonio Di Pietro, an illustrious citizen of Montenero. Also in the front row were teachers, pupils and representatives of the third sector and educational institutions. Sammy's relatives have also travelled from the Veneto region: Amerigo Basso's brother, Moreno, together with his daughters Andrea and Giulia. ‘We're very excited, this is the first school to be named after Sammy – they say – and we couldn't miss the event’.
