L'Aquila, April 5 (LaPresse) – Today at 4:00 PM, the relic of Saint John Paul II will be welcomed at the municipal park of Pacentro, in the province of L'Aquila. The 'ex capillis' relic of Pope Wojtyla, a key figure in modern history between the 20th century and the early 2000s, will be hosted in Abruzzo for the first time. It will be received this afternoon in the Santa Maria della Misericordia church in the Borgo, located at the foot of the Maiella and Morrone mountains, marking the final stop of a journey that began last autumn. Pacentro is part of the 'peregrinatio' of the relic, a path related to the network of 'Marcian Cities,' Italian locations that venerate Saint Mark the Evangelist as their patron saint. Along the peninsula, Pacentro represents the last stop for the relic before it returns to Teggiano, in the province of Salerno, on April 11. Today, the Santa Maria Maggiore church will be open for visits until 9:30 PM. On April 6, in the afternoon, a public meeting is scheduled with Fabio Zavattaro, scientific director of the School of Journalism at Lumsa, interviewed by journalist Vanessa Quinto of Rai News24.
