Rome, 8 Apr. (LaPresse) – In the case of the femicide of Ilaria Sula, the attention of the investigators of the homicide section of the Rome mobile squad was focused on two young foreigners aged 23 and 22, one of whom was of North African origin but both born in Rome, who on the night of 1 April at around 3 a.m. had been stopped at a checkpoint in a car with Samson in via Accademia degli Agiati, in the Ardeatino district. It was in that very area that the mobile phone of Ilaria Sula, who is missing, had picked up radio telephone cells in that area. Around midnight, however, the victim's phone had used the cells in the San Giovanni and Tuscolano neighbourhoods. According to the investigating magistrate who signed the order for pre-trial detention, the self-confessed offender Mark Samson was ready, if not stopped immediately, to flee to the Philippines or Saudi Arabia where he could count on the protection of family and friends.
