Rome, 10 April (LaPresse) – In relation to the fight against the threat of international terrorism, the State Police arrested, in the course of 2024, 23 subjects of whom, 11 extremists contiguous to jihadist terrorism, 11 subjects related to ethnic-independentist and Marxist-Leninist terrorist formations and one individual, for trafficking in war armaments and dual use material in violation of the international embargo. In the same context, as part of threat prevention, 82 individuals were repatriated who were considered dangerous to state security. These are the figures released on the occasion of the 173rd Anniversary celebrations of the founding of the State Police. In the fight against domestic terrorism, on the other hand, 23 arrests were made by the Digos of the Italian police headquarters.
