Milan, 13 April (LaPresse) – ‘I have a different point of view from everyone because I am Giulia's father: certain things hurt me. Perhaps the same thing could have been said in other words, perhaps there was a lack of sensitivity'. This is how Gino Cecchettin commented at Zona Bianca's microphones on Filippo Turetta's conviction, in which the aggravating circumstances of cruelty and persecutory acts were excluded. ‘This is my perception, I am ignorant in jurisprudence and cannot give a legal judgement,’ he added, ‘I respect the sentence, but I don't know why, I suffered all the same. Above all because it refers to that moment in Giulia's life that hurts me the most, that I still struggle to deal with: those twenty minutes that I still haven't fully digested, every time I try to think about it as a parent I feel terrible'. Asked whether the family will appeal the sentence, Gino Cecchettin replied: ‘Even in this case, I think it is legitimate to ask for cruelty and stalking. The lawyers will take care of that’.
