Rome, April 15 (LaPresse) – The State Police arrested three more ultras from Lazio and three from Roma who had taken part in the violent clashes at Ponte Milvio before the start of the capital's derby on Sunday. In the scuffles 24 policemen were injured and several businesses were damaged, as well as some private and service vehicles: this is the first balance of the serious episodes of urban guerrilla warfare recorded in the area of Ponte Milvio and Cardinal Consalvi. The violence started at 5.30 p.m., when a group of 500 Roma ultras from Piazza Mancini tried to reach Ponte Milvio, where the Lazio fans had gathered, attacking some contingents of police forces placed at the barricade. At that point, about 1,000 Lazio supporters, who in turn were moving towards the Stadio Olimpico, attracted by the movement of the Roma supporters, backtracked and tried to clash with the Giallorossi fans, without succeeding only thanks to the intervention of the police units, who carried out some lightening charges. The clashes at Ponte Milvio lasted for several minutes, during which the police had to resort to tear gas and water cannons to disperse the troublemakers.
