Washington, April 17 (LaPresse) – "In Europe, we are working with member states to increase defense spending." This was stated by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, responding to journalists' questions at the White House before her bilateral meeting with President Donald Trump. "I am here to invite Trump to Italy. We would like to organize a meeting with Europe," Meloni added. "We need to speak frankly about our mutual needs and find common ground. Both of us can come out of this stronger. I am confident we will be able to reach an agreement," continued the Prime Minister. Regarding military spending within the ReArm Europe plan, Meloni clarified: "Italy will increase defense spending up to 2% of GDP."
