Milan, 17 April (LaPresse) – Since yesterday evening, strong gusts of wind have caused trees to fall in the city and made various interventions necessary. This was reported by the Municipality of Milan, which expects the situation to continue throughout today, Thursday 17 April. This is why the Ucl (Local Crisis Unit), which met on Wednesday evening, decided that the parks will remain closed today. The municipality ‘reminds that the yellow weather alert (ordinary risk) is active for hydrogeological, water, thunderstorms and wind, therefore citizens are invited to pay particular attention near the areas at risk of overflowing of the two rivers, Lambro and Seveso, and subways’. In particular, ‘because of the wind, it is recommended not to stand under or near trees and near construction site scaffolding, dehors and tents. It is important to secure objects and vases on balconies and all objects that may be moved by the weather'. It is also ‘important to pay attention to weather phenomena at outdoor events in order to prevent dangerous situations. The Civil Protection's Municipal Operations Centre (COC) will be active to monitor and coordinate any interventions in the city'.
