Just hours before the Easter Vigil, around 5:50 p.m., the Pontiff entered through the Door of Prayer. Pope Francis stopped at Michelangelo’s Pietà, visited the Blessed Sacrament, and prayed at the Altar of the Chair. His unexpected presence astonished the faithful, who responded with applause.
