The whole world came here, even more delegations than for the funeral of Pope John Paul II. It was truly a global embrace, and Rome was the centre of the world today.’ These were the words of Rome's mayor, Roberto Gualtieri, at the end of the provincial committee meeting on public order and safety at the Prefecture in Rome.
