Vatican City (Vatican), 29 April (LaPresse) – ‘On Wednesday, 7 May 2025, at 4:30 p.m., the entrance into Conclave and the oath for the election of the Roman Pontiff will take place, according to the provisions of the Ordo Rituum Conclavis (nos. 29 44)’. The Holy See makes this known in a notification. ‘The Eminent Cardinal electors,’ it goes on to say, ’will meet at 4.15 p.m. in the Pauline Chapel, First Loggia of the Vatican Apostolic Palace. The Cardinals of the Latin Rite will wear the red robe with the sash, the rocchetto, the mozzetta, the pectoral cross with red and gold cord, the ring, the zucchetto and the biretta; the Cardinals of the Eastern Churches will wear their own choral habit. From the Pauline Chapel, to the singing of the Litany of the Saints, the Cardinal Electors will make their way in procession to the Sistine Chapel where, after the singing of the Veni Creator, they will pronounce the prescribed oath. In addition to the Cardinal Electors, they will take part in the procession, being in the Sala Regia of the Vatican Apostolic Palace, at 4. 00 and wearing their proper choir robes: the Cardinal who will give the meditation; the Secretary of the Conclave and Vice-Camerlengo; the Master of Papal Liturgical Celebrations; two members of the College of Apostolic Protonotaries; two members of the College of Prelates Hearing Officers of the Roman Rota; the Pontifical Masters of Ceremonies; the Secretary of the Cardinal presiding at the Conclave; the Pontifical Musical Chapel’.
