Milan, 16 May (LaPresse) – He shot his wife, seriously injuring her, then turned the gun on himself and killed himself. According to LaPresse, the attempted femicide took place this morning in Otranto, in the province of Lecce, at around 10 a.m. in Via Monsignor Gaetano Pollio, where the couple lived. Aldo Brigante, 85, first shot his wife, Mariateresa Parata, 82, who was suffering from an illness, and then used a 9mm pistol to kill himself. The couple's neighbours alerted the emergency services after hearing screams and gunshots. The woman was rescued and is currently in intensive care at the hospital in Lecce.
